About the Project

The Roundtable for AI, Security, and Ethics.

We set out to define a new brand that could fit within the current UN/UNIDIR family, but still stand out on it’s own accord. With a compelling new brand created, we set about building a simple, but flexible design system that helped marry the objectives of RAISE and their new look.

About the Brand

We set out to define a new brand that could fit within the current UN/UNIDIR family, but still stand out on it’s own accord. We chose an angular, modern, digital aesthetic with is perfectly aligned with the cutting edge nature of artificial intelligence.

Upwards Trajectory

The upward arrow motif symbolizes progress, innovation, and elevation aligning with the forward-thinking conversations expected at a roundtable on AI ethics and security.

Computer Chip

The chip visually connects to the hardware-level reality of AI systems. It signals that the discussion is not just theoretical, but rooted in the physical systems that power AI.

VISUAL STYLE

We used a tiered approach to structure our visual system for the project. Created to reflect how users understand AI, from abstract principles, to applications, to individual actions.

Sorting Algorithm Visual

Tier 01

Symbolic of AI logic and decision-making, it reflects how data is processed, ranked, and interpreted — core to machine learning and algorithmic systems.

3D Contextual Graphics

Tier 02

By using subject-specific 3D graphics it helps illustrate the tangible impact of AI and security in different sectors.

Iconography

Tier 03

Simple, symbolic, and intuitive. Our iconography is essential for clarity and accessibility, especially when addressing complex topics.

TIER 01

Sorting Algorithm Visual

We built a system that creates a soundwave out of spoken word, splits it up into randomised sections and then translates this into an alternating pillars.

The abstract nature of the visualization allows it to act as a neutral, unbranded backdrop, while still suggesting structure, intelligence, and flow. Used consistently across keynote materials, online media, and event framing, this primary-tier graphic establishes a visually unified foundation for the project’s identity.

TIER 02

3D Contextual Graphics

Our secondary visual layer features subject-specific 3D graphics designed to bridge the gap between abstract computation and real-world application. These visuals bring focus to the human, environmental, and technological contexts in which AI operates, making complex ideas tangible and relatable.

These graphics are designed to support specific themes discussed in the roundtable such as data security, surveillance, or automation. They help to make complex topics more accessible and relatable Where the primary tier sets an abstract, system-level tone, this layer brings the conversation down to earth. By using recognisable environments and objects, the 3D visuals provide clear visual cues that connect to the subject matter.

TIER 03

Iconography

The third level of our visual system is a set of simple, purpose-built icons. These are used to represent key themes, actions, or categories across the project helping to keep complex information organized and easy to navigate.

Each icon is designed with clarity in mind: clean lines, minimal detail, and consistent sizing. This makes them adaptable for both digital and print formats, whether in a presentation slide, on a website, or within a report.
